What impact, if any, does being induced with 1st pregnancy have on 2nd?

For those of you who were induced with their 1st pregnancy, do you think it had any effect on your subsequent births/labours?

My first birth was twins and I was induced at 36+2 and had them on 36+6 by EMCS. I'm due baby # 3 in 6 weeks and I've had lots of comments about making sure I'm ready from now because my babies 'come early'.

This baby is a single baby not twins, and also I didn't spontaneously go into labour early last time - I was induced so surely this won't have an impact on what's to happen this time round? I know some people say second labours can come earlier and be faster than first ones but if your first is induced early then surely it's not comparable?

Sorry if a stupid question but 3 people have said it now (not midwives or my consultant though, mind) and I'm starting to worry Blush

I don’t think it had an effect. I was induced with 1 and 3; spontaneous labour with number 2 (the morning I was meant to be induced!) They did all get faster though.

They were all about the same time - ds1 was 40+14, DS 2 was 40+12 and ds3 40+13

No effect here. First induced, eventually arrived at 42+2. Second baby was born spontaneously at 42+1. Third was induced at 41+1.

I don't feel it had any effect (for me anyway!). Weird that you're receiving comments that your babies come early when you were induced Confused maybe these people don't realise you were induced with your first pregnancy? or maybe they don't realise that twins tend to come that bit earlier?

I was induced with my 1st at 10 days overdue
With my second, I was 1 day overdue (no induction, waters broke out of the blue like in the movies)
My 3rd baby arrived (no induction) at 16 days overdue (I had, at that point, begged them to induce me)

I'm now pregnant with my 4th, I presuming this one will be 'late' too but maybe I'll be surprised.

The very best of luck to you Smile

Spontaneous labour was the quickest... And 'best' in terms of me coping. Third was do able but way more intense. First was epidural so can't compare.
