swaddling - good idea in summer?

hello everyone
i wasn't sure which section to put this question in, as the parenting boards all seem to be about older children, rather than tiny babies!
can anyone advise on swaddling a newborn-is it a good idea in this warm weather? What do babies wear under the swaddle? just a nappy, or a little sleepsuit?
my baby is due tomorrow - I am a first timer. I have heard good things about swaddling but i'm a bit nervous the baby might overheat.
thanks in advance and sorry if this question is in the wrong place...

i'm going to try swaddling this time again - due in 3 weeks. I've bought a cotton swaddling growbag which says on it to 'growbag is designed to be worn with sleepwear underneath' ' do not use swaddling in very warm temperatures 24 degrees and above)'.

I tried swaddling DD (because of the moro reflex she kept waking herself up) but she always managed to get undone after about 5 mins! ended up with sleeping bags for her very early on.
