Im pregnant with my first and quite like the homebirth option. But i live in the country and not sure if its silly of me. I would like to know how many of you needed treatment/aftercare after giving birth to your first.

First birth was fine. 4.5 hours of labour, tiny graze and no stitches it was the 5th birth that nearly killed us both

Emergency c section due to his heart rate dropping during contractions. He was out within 15 mins of them making the decision to cut. We were then in for a week due to infection markers in our bloods.

Baby had been in perfect position through my whole labour but turned back to back 3 days before my waters broke (which also happened 19 hours before any contractions started)!

Something like 63 percent of first births are instrumental deliveries in the hospitals around where I live in the North West. It's hard to interpret the statistics you get given because 2nd, 3rd etc births are a LOT less likely to need interventions. There's no way of knowing how it will turn out you just have to decide what you are comfortable with.
