still spotting after 6wks - doing my head in!

My title says it all really!
I’m six weeks and 2 days post partum and dear god, the Lochia still has my life!

It wasn’t the worst bleeding of my life as the nurse said it would be. I have horrendous periods and lochia was manageable in comparison, it just goes on and on... I should have shares in Always by now!

4 weeks PP I went back in my pill, 5 weeks PP it slowed down to the creamy discharge and pantyliners were my new best friends, life was becoming normal downstairs again... but... every three days or so, I go for a wee and there’s blood on the pantyliner! Out come the Always ultra and next wee break, the Always is clear!

Dear god it’s so annoying!

I think the odd spotting is normal, but it’s doing my head in!

Me too 11 weeks now :(

Peekingduckonthefence · 08/03/2019 11:41

I still don’t feel back to normal thanks to it dragging on and on and on!

Peekingduckonthefence · 08/03/2019 17:13

Not yet; I’ve got the babies 8 week appointment booked though, so if ots
Still going I’ll ask the dr then.
I really thought I’d be done by now!

Is it possible that you are slightly anaemic? Bleeding didn't stop after my first birth until I took iron supplements. I lost a lot of blood during the birth but my lovely midwife gave me a prescription for iron when I was still spotting 6 weeks after and that sorted me out.

butterflykiss00 · 08/03/2019 19:23

That's good at least you can get he ball rolling for this

Peekingduckonthefence · 08/03/2019 20:09

Silver - my iron levels are still really good - they were right through the pregnancy; I had bloods done for something else last week.

Butterfly - has anyone said what they’re expecting from the smear?

No just had a look at my cervix and seen ecropian so they said they would do a smear and take some swabs to rule out anything else

Peekingduckonthefence · 08/03/2019 22:41

Well at least they are being proactive for you Butterfly; when I queried with the nurse a week or so ago, she said everyone was different and kinda brushed me off a bit.

I just had 48 hours spot free... until now. Honestly this is worse than the emergency c-section and recovery!

@Peekingduckonthefence aw that's awful, I'm sure you bleed for much longer after a c section and if U are breast feeding aswell, but I'm not breast feeding and i had a vaginal delivery

Peekingduckonthefence · 09/03/2019 09:53

We’re formula feeding too; I was thinking about why the whole bleeding is stressing me out earlier; I think it’s the unpredictability of it. If I was still just bleeding I’d be ok with that. It’s the spotting at random times with no pattern or reason that’s getting to me.
For example, so far I’ve been fine overnight and had nothing - this morning it’s clear I’ve bled over night. Argh!!

I'm the same! Wish I knew why too! Really gets you down

Peekingduckonthefence · 09/03/2019 17:43

And more today. Good god.
Though I am grateful someone else understands how I feel, even if I would not wish it on anyone!

If we had an answer why ,it would be so much easier wouldn't it!
Is yours heavy? Mines just constant spotting really more so after sex and on a morning but last few days it's been all day but still spotting :/

WeeBeasties · 09/03/2019 20:30

10 weeks and still bleeding every day. I told the dr at my 6 week checkup and he put me on the pill saying that it will balance my hormones and control the bleeding. So far no joy.

I just want to wear some nice knickers and start feeling a bit more human again!

Peekingduckonthefence · 09/03/2019 20:55

Welcome to our mini-support group weebeasties!
I’ve been back on the pill since week four after birth, no change! In fact today has been the worst day in ages. Definitely not a period either!
Gah!
