Episotomy/forceps delivery with 1st baby what happened with your next birth?

How did subsequent labours go?
Did you have another vaginal birth?
Opt for C-Section?
Assisted delivery again?

I am 26 weeks and haven't discussed birthing yet, I am just wondering how it went the next time?
Thanks

I very nearly asked for a CS with 2nd baby, but consultant talked me out of it by saying baby didn’t seem as big as last one (was bigger 🤔). So glad went for vaginal birth though as was a breeze (in comparison). Just a graze.

Best of luck!

1: 19 hour labor, episiotomy, forceps delivery
2: 2.5 hour delivery , gas and air, shot out like a rat from a drainpipe causing a tear!
3: 1 hr 20 delivery, 2 paracetamol, delivered at home. No stitches no tears.

Following as I needed an episiotomy after 1.5 hrs pushing with first baby (narrowly avoided forceps).

I'd absolutely love an easier pushing stage this time!

Home birth, all fine

Ventouse and tear 1st. Epesiotomy and ventouse 2nd. Recommend cut over tear every time. 1st was spontaneous fast labour. 2nd was induced and fast once it got going- only needed the gel, the rest just happened. Both times got stuck and needed a little help from ventouse. 2nd was much bigger than first - hence induction!

I was induced with my first baby. Had all the drugs including epidural. Ended up with episiotomy and ventouse delivery, baby suffered birth trauma and ended up in NICU.

Second baby was spontaneous labour no drugs normal delivery

I had an epidural with DC1 leading to a forceps delivery as I couldn't feel to push & both DC & I were getting tired after a long labour.

DC2 was a completely different story. Labour was half as long & I only needed gas & air for pain relief. I pushed him out in a 20 minute second stage with only a small tear. It was a doddle compared to the first one.

Episiotomy, forceps and an internal tear with a blood loss of 1,500 ml, an epidural after birth so I could be sewn up in theatre afterwards and a blood transfusion first time round.

22 months later a non-instrumental delivery with a small graze and was able to have a shower on my own afterwards. So much better second time round.
