What was your experience?

Am thinking of using the hospital although it is out of area for me.

Ive heard excellent things about them and also they have only got single rooms so I would really appreciate that.

Thanks

I had an Induction here with my son and I can't fault the care and support we received throughout. I don't think I would have coped being in a ward environment so the private rooms were invaluable and my husband could stay overnight after i had delivered - they made him up a bed on the floor! Due baby number 2 in the new year and will be heading back to T Wells Hospital for her. All the best of luck with your birth xx

I was induced Friday just gone with DD. I was in my induction room for 48 hours, would have been slightly sooner but there was an EMCS and someone blue lighted in, therefore I kept losing my place on delivery suite. Aside from this, I loved the whole experience and couldn’t fault it. All hospitals will get busy, and the midwives were lovely.

That's the most important if the service was good.
I ended up having an emergency last time with a general after going into pre term labour so I am now more understanding of waiting in maternity as well

Did you have your own room

Yes own room on induction and delivery. I insisted on going home day she was born so not sure if they put you on ward after delivery or not

I have birth there last year! Couldn't fault the care I received. I was blue lighted from maidstone birth centre.

I had my son there and it was lovely. The staff were great and yes, you do get a private room.

However...because it’s the only hospital in the area with private rooms it can get very busy. I have heard they have to turn people away quite frequently because they are full. This might be an issue for you if you have to travel a long way? It also means that you sometimes have to wait a long time to be seen - i was ready to be discharged but had to wait hours and hours for there to be someone free to do the paperwork as they were rushed off their feet. I don’t think that’s particular to this hospital though...

I will be having a scheduled c section , for medical reasons

Do you know if they will turn me away then for that or is that less likely?

Tunbridge Wells. Tonbridge is a different town.

Thanks @squashyhat you're very clever, aren't you??
