How long after a 'show' did you go into labour?

I had a show 6 o'c last night (I'm 35.5 weeks). Had an antenatal appt anyway today and while they confirmed that indeed sounded like a show could give no idea as to when I might go into labour. No contractions, bit gripey period type pain today, sore tummy yesterday and abdomen hard but no contractions then either. So how long did you take from show to labour? It's my first pregnancy so nothing to compare with

Started having contractions about 20 hrs after my show. But that was at 40 weeks exactly. Have they told you what to do if you start having contractions? I was told that you could have a show up to 2 weeks before labour starting.

it could be weeks yet ! sorry !! i think the mucus plug can sort of reform..it is a bit early for baby to come yet....sounds like you are having braxton hicks which are normal...

juuule · 13/06/2007 16:37

Usually within 12 hours.

MonkeyandBabyBoo · 13/06/2007 16:37

DS - had show at 40+4, went in to labour the next day and had him at 40+7.

DD - had show at 37 weeks, went into labour at 40+10.

Sorry, its probably not what you want to hear...

I don't mind if she comes now or in a few weeks to be honest, just wondered if things were imminent or not. Doesn't sound like it. DH more concerned than me cos he's got to shoot off on business for a week and worrying about missing the birth!

I had a show when I was 39 weeks, got all excited. However, ended up being induced at 41+6 and ended up having a c-section.

2 weeks.

and my sis was a week after.

JodieG1 · 18/06/2007 13:33

I lost some of my plug at 33 weeks with my last pregnancy and even earlier in previous. It can reform and I ended up losing more once in labour and dilating. I went weeks and weeks after the show so there's no telling really.

Sil had a show last fri and dd was born last night. She was advised up to 2 weeks.

Mine happened after my waters broke (a bit unclear about how that was as I would have thought it would have had to get out of the way first!!!!) ad once my contractions started

Its a bit early for your lo yet so fingers crossed they stay put for at least a couple of weeks!

notasheep · 18/06/2007 14:27

bohemianbint · 18/06/2007 14:29

YumMumFatBum · 18/06/2007 14:33

I had a show around 10am on the friday, started having contractions 4am on the saturday, had dd by 9.30pm saturday night.
I was in total denial for most of the saturday, I was only having braxton hicks!
