Hello Ladies,

I had preeclampsia (in the last day/day of delivery) in the first pregnancy and ended up with an emergency caesarean as the cervix didn't dilate after hours...

I am now 36 weeks pregnant with 2nd one and have a hospital appointment next week. I am not sure why. I am guessing it's to discuss my birth plan.

I am not sure what to choose! Can I still have a normal delivery with the 2nd? Should I stay safe and choose a caesarean?

I am too scared and worried...

Can you please suggest...

Yes you can have a VBAC (vaginal birth after CS). There are some increased risks versus someone who has not had a previous CS but there are also risks of repeat CS.
I had a VBAC earlier this year after an emergency CS at 9cm 3.5yrs earlier. I was induced and had a normal birth. Not complication free but I had other complications such as polyhydramnios, large baby, suspected late onset diabetes, previous PpH and blood transfusion.

Discuss with your team, althoughnim shocked you have got to 36weeks and not had this chat

Can anyone recommend a good Doctor anywhere in England who is experienced in VBAC?
I've had 2 emergency cesareans and would really like a natural labour next time around

VBAC is very common, all doctors and midwives are experienced in caring for women with previous CS. 2 previous CS is slightly different but risks aren’t as drastic as you may be led to believe
