Think I may of had a show? TMI

I know that there is more discharge when your pregnant, but last night I had what looked like a big lump of jelly about 3cm across, clear with cloudy streaks in it. Since then i've had loads more really thick stringy sticky stuff which looks the same.

Could this have been my show? I'm only 30wks at the moment so not sure what to do? I did call the midwife but it went through to the labour ward and the midwife just said "if your not having contractions it doesn't matter, call back if your waters go or if you start having contractions"

Any advice anyone?

I've MSNed Lulumama for you to alert her to your thread!

It does sound suspiciously like it but mind you I never noticed mine last time!

I've heard that it doesn't matter too much if it starts to go a bit early. I think there are implications about sex etc.
Sorry to be useless but hope you get an answer from someone clever soon!

hello !

sounds like a show, but don;t panic. IIRC the plug can reform, and you can lose it for a loooooong time....try not to worry.....NatalieJane had an epic show, lasted about 6 weeks

just keep an eye on things, and call labour ward back if any waters go, or contractions, as they have advised....

if you are worried, call them back

when is your next antenatal appt?

CountTo10 · 04/06/2007 13:37

He Hemm, errm ummm have you and your dp/dh been 'together' recently??

When I had a show, it was blood streaked. It might be that a small amt of the plug has come away but nothing to worry about?

lulumamasmentee · 04/06/2007 13:42

Antenatal on Friday

Countto10, ummmmm yes, but I like to think I can tell the difference

I was thinking of having a check myself to see what my cervix was up to, I checked a couple of weeks back and it was def closed and hard. But if it is my plug not really sure if I want to?

What does everyone think?

i would be inclined to not have too much of a fiddle around, but if you go in to be checked, the MW will most likely check, if you do do anything, be gentle and not too much poking around ! might only be a bit of the show that has come away....

CountTo10 · 04/06/2007 13:58

Oh no not that I just meant that sometimes I found that if do and I had been maybe a little bit more errm energetic than we may have should have been, I found that I would lose a little of the plug afterwards!!

lulumamasmentee · 04/06/2007 14:04

AAhh I get you now , you might be right it was the same day, I will speak to the midwife on Friday and see what she thinks.

I did a quick check and it has softened up quite a bit and I can get one finger in easily but I think this may just be normal for me in later preganancy as with DD when I went in to be induced I was already 3cms and was only 39wks with no contractions.
