I have a dd but this time round one minute I think girl then the next boy....

Last pregnancy I knew I was having a girl and didn’t even find out!

Not bothered this time round but thought it would be interesting to hear other people’s views...

All the old wives’ tales suggested I was having a boy- neat bump, no morning sickness, high sex drive, I glowed and craved salty things.

DH thought boy initially but wavered around due date.

I decided girl despite everything as I was convinced I would have seen something on the numerous femur scans we had.

I was right- though she is a little tomboy!

My last pregnancy I had a feeling it was a girl and that was confirmed and I had a daughter...

This time round I was certain I was having a boy, everything was different to last time, the whole pregnancy was different. But the day of my scan I got a big doubt about it being a boy and thought it was a girl, and I was confirmed to be having a girl during the scan.

1st. Thought boy, was a boy.
2nd. No idea, was a girl.
3rd. Thought girl, was a girl.

I had vivid dreams of my little girl all the way through the pregnancy. She looked the same in each dream, I still remember her little voice, colour of her eyes, how her hair fell...

And yet I was completely convinced it was a boy, which he was. Grin

I would have staked my house on DS1 being a girl. Nope.

Same again for DS2. Again, nope.

So bollocks to my intuition!!

happymummy12345 · 30/05/2018 23:45

I'd never ever find out before the birth. However I really wanted a girl, but I had a feeling we were having a boy. We did.

Wellthisunexpected · 01/06/2018 18:58

Convinced it was a boy. He was! Literally everyone else thought a girl, including the midwife delivering me!

GaryWilmotsTeeth · 05/06/2018 12:30

I was totally convinced my first was a boy, referred to "him" throughout the pregnancy. She was a girl. My first words after she was born were "oh, you're a girl. weird."

my second pregnancy was exactly the same as my first, so I assumed I was having another girl. Nope, boy.

Totally wrong both times.

NewbornMadness · 05/06/2018 12:34

We chose not to find out at a scan, but I was 100% convinced (along with 99% of people who guessed) that I was having a boy Smile my bump shape, my intuition, my dreams always had a baby boy in them. I was drawn to boys clothes and could only ever imagine myself with a son.

My 6 weeks old daughter is beautiful though Grin good job we didn't care either way!

SamanthaH92 · 07/06/2018 07:40

Yes i knew my first was a girl and said from the moment i found out that this time it would be another girl. At 20 week scan the lady said "what makes you think its a girl?" I just said just a feeling its 100% going to be a girl. She said " well you are right its a girl". I think sometimes you just know x

Blondebombsite83 · 10/06/2018 21:30

I was adamant it was a girl. No way could I be having a boy. I just couldn't fathom that I could make a boy. 12 week scan...had a small penis waved at me straight away. Now I can't imagine ever making a girl.

Blondebombsite83 · 10/06/2018 21:31

Sorry 20 week scan. Not 12.

Joeybee · 10/06/2018 21:42

I thought it'd be a boy, and he is. Husband had a strong feeling it would be too. However it's all just a game of chance - 50/50! 50% of people will guess right, truth it I don't think anyone ever really 'knows' until they have the sex confirmed.

NoodieRoodie · 10/06/2018 21:43

I knew with all 3 of mine despite never finding out at the 20 week scan, I also have 100% success rate with close friends! When DC2 was born, lovely homebirth i practically delivered her, the midwives asked if i wanted to see what i had, i looked and said yes she's a girl but we knew. By the time I got to DC3 I was taking everyone that it was a boy even though that was only my intuition and not confirmed by any medical science

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 10/06/2018 21:47

2 sonographers told me a girl. I had ds!!

AlecOrAlonzo · 10/06/2018 21:57

I "knew" Dd1 was a girl. Didn't have any boy names at all. Totally knew.
Dd2 I didn't have a clue but dh thought girl
DS started off thinking another girl but by the end was convinced he was a boy. Which he was.

sleepingbaby1125 · 10/06/2018 21:58

I had no feeling about it.
A surprising number of people on antenatal class said they just 'knew'. The ones that were right brought it up after, the ones that weren't seemed to forget about it! I think it's guesswork but a classic example of confirmation bias.
