A lil' ol' place in Tennesseeeeeeeee

I think, I hope, I pray, I might be doing my elective placement at The Farm If I can get the cash together...

How cool is that?!

Oh, honestly I am so excited and I don't even have a place on the trip yet. Talk about jumping the gun! You're a doula, is that right, herts?

You can get bursaries, lulu!

I'm hoping to raid my savings and raise about a grand. The week-long course (includes food and accommodation) is about £600, I think, plus flights. It's a lot of money but it would be the trip of a lifetime for me. Well worth it.

WOW!!! That would be amazing

I wanna come too!!!

lulumama · 17/05/2007 19:23

can you only do this as part of your midwifery studies?

Klaw · 17/05/2007 20:03

Oh Snaf, that would be the coolest placement EVER!!!!!!!!

I'd be happy to do a DUK placement there too!!!

Snaf · 17/05/2007 20:24

We all have to arrange our own placements late in the final year, lulu. It's not part of the course but I think uni would have to approve it. Apparently my tutor went a few years ago though, so....

I saw it on withwoman and am going to jump at the chance to apply, at least. They've done a similar trip for the last few years now.

But lots of people apply, I think, so it's by no means definite that I would get to go. Students from my uni have gone in previous years, though

Snaf,

Congrats.

Tennessee is a gorgeous state. Whenever I drive cross country (I'm obviously American) I love that region.
