Small-chested - do you really need nursing bras for the hospital?

I am very small-chested (AA cup normally) and haven't grown much during pregnancy (still struggling to fill a 32A). Prior to pregnancy I never wore bras for support, but rather to give the illusion of having something there and hence make clothes fit better. During pregnancy I have been wearing sport bras and bralettes in XS. I'm starting to think about ordering stuff I need for my hospital bag, and the local hospital recommends taking two nursing bras. The problem is that I've looked everywhere and nursing bras just don't seem to exist in XS / A cup, except for a couple of very expensive ones from specialty shops. I've tried a few in the smallest size available and they were huge. My question is, do you really need them, or can I get away with a bralette I can pull up/down, at least until I figure out how much bigger I'm likely to get post-birth (I understand you can only tell after your milk has come in) and/or whether I'm going to be BFing longer-term?

I went from an A to DD & leaked like hell. So a bra was a must for me. I’d have to wear 3 breast pads if going out anywhere. I actually hated the leaking part with a passion.

I'm large chested and didn't bother with a nursing bras, my milk never came in, no leaking or size increase at all.

I would suggest bookmarking a couple that you think will work, if you think after birth that you need one then order it to be delivered.

I thought same as you op, then had to buy sleep bras to put breast pads in!

These are the type I have https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LZA0BLV/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_94S7Ab859KDNC
I'm not particularly large so I'm still using these at 11 months.

Might I suggest that those of you who are able to get your boob out of a normal bra to feed should have a look at boob or bust 😬

I packed nursing bras but didn't wear them in the hospital, didn't wear any bra, was much easier to take my whole boob out so I could see what I was doing.
