This is a bit of a vent but it would also be lovely to hear your stories about your early labour experiences to help me pass the time!

I have been having contractions/nausea since 6pm last night. They started off 7mins apart straight away and haven't stopped for over 12 hrs. Intensity has plateaued Confused no show or waters but after two weeks of Braxton Hicks I am sure these are contractions.

Managed to get some broken sleep for about three hours around 3.30am.
Just came back from a stroll to try and speed it up but starting to wonder if bump will ever turn up at this rate!

Would love to hear how you all managed to get through this sane / how you stepped it up into active labour

Hi! Good luck with everything!
With my first I had a show when I got up, I was 20 and home alone so I called my mum in a panic. She reassured me that it would be ages yet, and she was right. Although I still called my boyfriend home from work. We watched Gavin and Stacey and ate chocolate. The contractions started to take hold as we got to the second series and we went to the hospital an hour or so later when my waters broke. I was very lucky that everything actually progressed pretty quickly, when we got to the hospital I was 8cm, had gas and air and DS arrived at 6:20pm about 2 hours after we arrived in the hospital.
With my second, in December just gone, I was walking home from taking DS to nursery and contractions just hit me out of nowhere. Called my boyfriend when I got home who came home and we watched Gavin and Stacey and ate chocolate again (we felt it was tradition now!) but we only got a couple of episodes in when the pain got quite bad so I went to have a bath. We’d planned a home birth so boyfriend called my midwife who said she would be a bit delayed due to snow but would be there as soon as she could. I’d been in the bath for about an hour when I felt like I needed to push. Got out and went to the sofa where I walked around a bit and swore at my boyfriend a few times before he ended up delivering DD on the sofa at 9:10pm. Midwife arrived about 20 minutes later 😂
DS was 10 days early and DD was 12 days early.
Good luck again xx
