I'm getting really impatient!! How to fill last few weeks productively?

Oh 5 weeks to go...I just want it over with! I'm bored, I'm too knackered to do much or go anywhere (iron still a bit low) and the house has been organised to death...but I must have missed something, can anyone tell me what they found to do in the last weeks and anything they're glad they remembered / wished they'd remembered, before it's too late?!
Have a feeling I should be focussing a lot on DS1 actually, trying to prepare him somehow...

read about what will happen when your little one.... i read lots of pregnancy stuff.... and when the little one arrived i was a bit lost and keep going to the books and calling my mw's a lot

Fill the freezer with single portions of meals for you all so you don't have to live on sandwiches in those first few weeks.

And read to ds1 lots so he gets used to listening to stories while you are feeding the new baby

Read all the books you can, it took me ages to pick up a book again after DS was born.

Yes, make yourself some freezer meals that you can eat with one hand, like lasagne and shepherd's pie.

Go the cinema - that's something you miss out on when you have a new baby, and it involves mimimal effort... you could go with DP in the evenings and take DS1 as a treat? (depending on how old he is)

Get lots of sleep, especially as the due date nears - you want to be well-rested!

It's only a little thing to do and deffo not gonna fill five weeks but regarding DS1, have you thought about makeing a "I'm a big brother" T Shirt or something like it. Not sure how old your DS is? but I did this with DD1 with dd2's birth pending and she wore it to the hospital when she came to see her sister.

Have no idea other than to go out and pamper your self, new hair cut, manicure etc loads of lovely massages if poss and just chill.

Ooh I'm glad I asked!! Some great ideas, thankyou ladies...the T shirt thing is nice, DS is almost 4 so will be very proud if we get him one of those.

Making the t-shirt is great idea, but if you want one and like me wouldn't know where to start to make one then No added sugar do some great t-shirts like that. Ds had one two yrs ago bought for him with the arrival of his baby sister. He was very proud of it.

FWIW flightattendant, I went through the same impatient thing a few weeks ago. I'm 38+3 today but around the 35 week mark I was so desperate to just get on with it and have this baby. It was all I could think about all day. It was just a phase for me though as now I feel fine, I'm actually happy to hang on a while longer, I have a bit more life in me, am sleeping better and not feeling quite so impatient. I hope it's the same for you and you do not spend the next 5-6 weeks counting down. Good Luck

Also thankyou for the reassurance re waiting, I suppose it probably is a phase and actually, I'm pretty glad it's not immediately imminent - I might think I'm ready, but I'm sure I'm not!!

focus on your other dc and sleep!oh and near end of 3rd dc pregnancy i had about 3 baths a day because didnt know when id get time to soak!

I have 5 weeks to go too and have ran out of things to wash and clean.Have taken to having two baths a day (first child so have the luxury). Been going to cinema in the day but its not the most comfortable place to be.From tommorow though its gardening.After cleaning everything in the house I am going to clean the outside of it too!Being on my hnads and knees weeding is actually very comfortable...

Brilliant, yes the outside definitely needs cleaning. Why didn't I think of that?!!

Forget cleaning - you'll have a messy house soon anyway! Pamper, pamper, pamper. Lots of long baths and book massages - if you hav to cancel folks will understand. Enjoy!

i defo feel for you Flightattendant..(in same boat 39+4) ans i going bloody stir crazy..quite chilled most of the time when stupid FIL is not harassing/winding me up ( any twinges..kind of remarks!!)
