Position/size of c section scar for a breech baby

I had an EMCS for my first DC. My scar is quite low down (below bikini line).

I am now 33 weeks pregnant and currently breech, so another c section is possible.

Those of you who had a c section for breech baby second time around- did they do another incision (possibly higher up than your first scar for the breech baby?).

I really don't want to have two different scars (sounds vain I know and obviously if that's the best way for baby to come out then so be it.)

Do any of you have two sperate c section scars? Or did they use the same one?

Hi, I had one breech baby, and one transverse. The used the same scar for both C-Sections. The only problem was a small section on one side where the new scar deviated from the site of the old scar, which took a little longer to hear than the rest. Otherwise all good.

As an aside, I had heard that they cut the former scar tissue out, giving you a (minor) tummytuck at the same time, but that proved not to be true (the midwife did this face Hmm when I asked her before I went in.

Thank you irnbru that is good to know. Ha that's funny I have heard about cutting out scar tissue too! Maybe they do it, but just don't call it a tummy tuck as such!

I wonder if needing a section for breech will mean they will struggle to get baby out of my current scar (as it's very very low.)

I had an EMCS with DD (who was stuck very low down) and an ELCS for DS, who was an unstable lie but mostly transverse. But he is recorded as a breech birth because he happened to be in that position when they started the surgery, although he moved during it and got stuck!

they used the same scar for both, right on my bikini line. They did struggle to get him out, but I've always assumed that's because he was moving around and being awkward, rather than where the incision was.

Gary thank you! That sounds promising then :-)

I've only had one, for a breech, and the scar is very low and they had no probs getting her out through that low a cut, so hopefully you'll be fine with a low down cut for your breecher :) good luck!

I've had two EMCS, 2nd for breech baby and it was on the old scar line. It healed well and I'd say with no additional scar tissue.
