My first baby, Daniel, is due November 10th. I have never helped anyone else with their hospital bag before, neither has DH. Neither of us have never even been to a birth. I am going to pack my hospital bag in October but I would like to write down all the things I will need to buy so there will be minimal stress at the time.

So far my list consists of:

2 cheap night shirts
Slippers
Coming home outfit for me
Maternity pads (basically giant sanitary towels that are more like nappies)
Mints
Camera
Smallest size nappies
Wetwipes
Coming home outfit for Daniel
2 baby blankets
2 baby hats
2 pairs of baby socks
2 babygrows
Water bottle
Purse
Newborn dummies
Baby lotion
Sudocrem
Other snacks for me and DH (fave chocolate, sweets and crackers)

I take infacol in with me as ds had a grumbly tummy from the beginning and ds3 was the same, it's a lifesaver for windy babies.

Newborns do love to wee all over themselves too ! So lots of baby-grows I ran out in hospital last time.

Very soft clothes for you after the birth as you're feeling fragile.

You sound very prepared so don't worry!!

A magazine or kindle! Honestly I had no idea I'd have any time to kill, but I had to stay the night after having DD. Once DH was sent home I was so full of adrenaline I couldn't sleep but DD did so I was left twiddling my thumbs.

Flip flops for the bathroom.

I also had an extra bag in the car with more babygrows, vests and nappies in case we had to stay longer. I figured it was easier to have it packed and ready instead of keep sending DH lists of stuff.

I always take lots of bibs too as babies sick up a lot (well mine do anyway!) and it saves having to get them changed too often.
You'll still be quite big after you give birth so make sure you have loose and comfy clothing, and the hospital will be hot. You may also get sicked on (lots) so spare clothes are good.
A dark towel that you don't mind getting blood on after your shower.

I agree I had the labour and 1 night stay bag with me and a back up 1+ night stay bag in the car.

I added bibs to list

Shower essentials
Some big knickers to accommodate the giant pads
A couple of comfy nursing bras (got mine from M&S and am already wearing them, baby isn't here yet 😂)
Nappies
Phone charger
A good night dress to give birth in
Comfy pyjamas (that you can breastfeed in)
A good book
