Here is a link to a short documentary on the Wuseum of Women's website about this shocking statistic. I was interested how they described the process by which these C-sections are encouraged, where the OB starts worrying about the labour being prolonged far too early, and I wonder if that way of thinking isn't becoming more prevalent in UK hospitals with our climbing C-section stats.

Yes, well, it is cultural as well. Labour can be seen by some in these cultures as melodramatic.

Also, the mother can have a tummy tuck AND a sterilisation whilst in the theatre for her last section after she decides she has had enough children.

Similarly, the plastic surgeon can use her csection incision line to perform other cosmetic procedures to her abdomen should she request these 'corrections' later on.

If you watch the video you'll ses that your assumptions about the reasons for the high rate of C-sections are wrong. They are performed because of the OB's reasons, not the mothers choice.
