Writting a letter to recieve my antenatal/labour notes etc

Who do I write it to, is it the actual ward, or another department??
Does anyone know the maximum amount that they can charge?

look at the hospital's website. it should tell you how to do so.

there isn't a maximum charge - they can charge what they effing like. Our hospital recently changed it from 10p per page to something like 40p. there rational was 'it was what other neighbouring hospitals were charging.

i had 150 pages of notes. and then realised that they didn't even include the notes about my dd.

There is a maximum charge of £50 under the Freedom of Information Act, so any hospital trying to charge mor ethan this is breaking the law apparently.

I actually rang my hospital, asked for medical records, spoke to them, got sent a form to fill in, returned it asking for both my birth details (even though there wasn't really space to do so) and was sent both records out in a very reasonable time. I wasn't even charged either!

The maxiumum you can be charged is £50.

I am so glad I got mine as I immediately felt a sense that I'd got a part of me back, hard to explain, but I guess I regained a bit of ownership.
