Ill and overdue. Is baby helping me out, do you think?

I've got a horrendous cold - shivery, headaches, runny nose/eyes, coughing up gunk etc - and am now 41 weeks pregnant.
Is it possible that my body is postponing labour until I feel better? I've refused a sweep booked in for today and am now wondering whether I should have just gone for it and powered through. I honestly can't imagine giving birth in this state and feel a bit as though I shouldn't interfere with my body as it knows what it's doing. Am I just being naive? Anyone had any experience with this? Or has anyone given birth whilst ill?

You will probably find that once in labour you will completely forget about how ill you are! Plus if you are planning on having any pain relief you might even feel better Wink
Have a chat with you MW if concerned? I think when baby's ready ,baby will come no matter what! Good luck and hope you feel better soon!
