I am 39+3 and although expecting an overdue baby (dd 10days late and my dates for this baby are a week later than the hospital make them) am currently suffering very bad chest infection fluey type thing and nerous about going into albour (despite wanting baby out!!)

Any experiences? Will the pain just take over or will I feel ten times as terrible?? (and I'm feeling pretty darn rough already!)

Ta x

I had terrible, worst ever cold/flu when I had number 2. During the birth I didn't even notice it, and remember vividly being on the ward with babe in arms being extremely surprised that the forse of the birth hadn't miraculously cured me?! i remember getting the nurses to bring me loads of cold drungs, and being terrified I'd make all the babies ill. But for the birth itself I had other thiings on my mind and didn't notice it.
tbh I don't think I would've noticed a t-Rex knawing at my shin bone.

My baby is 4 weeks old and I laboured with a severe chest infection and infections in both ears. It didn't make any difference to the labour for me. I started antiobiotics afterwards and it got so bad I was getting pain in my lungs when I breathed and couldn't breathe deeply because of the pain. I wouldn't worry about it, the pain of the labour takes over!
