And she is mighty fed up too ! She is fine, baby is fine, she just gets five to eight hour bouts of contractions that look like they are going somewhere and then peter out. This has been going on since Tuesday, so you can be sure she is pretty ~@#*ed off !!

BTW - I am Cadbury's DH, taking over internet posting duties while she rests in bed with Kleenex and Top of Pops 2.

Will post again as and when.

Oh dear, please send her my love, I'm sending her positive birthing vibes xx

Miaou · 10/02/2007 18:22

oooh cadbury, sending you sympathy and lots of proper contraction vibes - hope things really get going again very soon!

Thanks for the update spamhead - was wondering how she was getting on...

Chloe55 · 10/02/2007 18:22

Oh dear, poor Cadbury.

I had 12 hr bouts and then nothing for another 12 hours which went on for 4dys when I had ds. I know how tiring it can be for both of you.

If at all possible make sure you both get some sleep, you have a long slog ahead of you and she will need you on top form

NadineBaggott · 10/02/2007 18:25

I didn't even know she was pg

Jelley · 10/02/2007 18:27

I've been thinking of her the last couple of days, and was sure sh'e be holding her baby by now...it really can't go on much longer.

Good luck

danceswithnewboots · 10/02/2007 18:29

AGH! Poor you cadbury sending some proper contractions that actually result in baby^ your way!

Spamhead · 10/02/2007 18:31

Lulumamma, we got the chocolate supplies in last night (so did the midwife on Tuesday, but as its taken so long, she ate it all herself!)

We did go out for lunch this afternoon, a walk, a drive to the sea side and back again. What is really hacking her off is that after speed bumps and spicy foods, everything stopped. Now she has had a nice warm bath and is tucked up in bed, it has started again!

Chloe, thanks for the encouragement. Need to keep reminding her that there is actually a baby at the end of all this, and she is not afflicted by a swollen wriggly tummy for nothing

Warm thoughts and hugs gratefully received and passed on.

if it is at all possible (yeah, right!) , forget about labour, just chill..and then it will come and get you !

Spamhead · 10/02/2007 18:37

Sound philosophy Lulumamma. Can't change a jot by worrying about it.

Then you're doing the right thing - often we forget there's a reason we are in so much pain

Lucozade tablets were a godsend to me when I actually went into labour - I'm sure they helped with the energy levels.

Spamhead · 10/02/2007 18:42

Good tip. Will see if I can hold of some tomorrow.

Oh poor Cadders. Give her my love and I'll be sending lots of {{{{{{{{vibes}}}}}}}}her way.

TrinityRhino · 10/02/2007 19:04

oh cadbury, you poor thing
I'll send 'cervix opening' vibes to you

I so hope that you have your little bundle soon

Cadbury · 11/02/2007 10:15

Still here

Cried so much yesterday that I can't get rid of the headache it's given me.

I guess what lulumama said is right - I will just ignore all contractions I get (as they just seem to go away again when I don't actively keep them going) and then wait for them to come and get me.

Just feel sooo frustrated, and tired, despite sleeping from 7pm until this morning with a brief waking for friut and chocolate.

Beetrootccio · 11/02/2007 10:16

how many weeks are you caddders?

MrsJohnCusack · 11/02/2007 10:18

oh cadbury you poor thing - how grim

lulumama · 11/02/2007 10:20

(((hugs))

i reckon once it kicks off, your labour will go like a rocket ! all these twinges and pains are doing something apart from p*ssing you off...., honestly

if you feel like, have a little walk and a roast lunch today ! and then back to bed with some crappy magazines and a bar of fruit 'n' nut !

Miaou · 11/02/2007 10:27

Oh Cads you poor thing! That last bit is just soooo hard isn't it. {{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}

Miaou · 11/02/2007 10:32

I had a stop-start labour with ds (18m ago - do you remember the drama?? ) - contractions started every night for a week before I finally went into labour. But in the end the whole thing happened in just over four hours

Mistiek · 11/02/2007 14:46

Hey Cadbury,

So Sorry it has not happened yet... (Hug)

Try and keep your chin up and hang in there, something is bound to happen soon and I think Lulu is right when it does kick off it will go like a rocket!

Cadbury · 11/02/2007 18:32

Oh I bloody hope you are right mistiek and lulumama.

I have had twinges and the odd nasty contraction but they have all been pretty random over the last 24 hours. I am planning to ignore all contractions totally until I can't ignore them anymore and they won't go away. Got a horrid feeling that I will still be here like that at 42 weeks and the very last thing I want is to be induced and be in hospital again. This is my last chance to have a natural homebirth and I really don't want to miss out.

dh is going back to work tomorrow so I've got to find some energy and patience to deal with the kids on half term.

Beetrootccio · 11/02/2007 18:33

when are you due cadbury?

Cadbury · 11/02/2007 18:35

sorry beety - wasn't ignoring you, dh came in to talk to me and I got distracted. I was due last Tuesaday when this whole false labour thing started.
