Contractions every 7-10 min lasting 1 min

Been having them since 6am this morning at this rate and length.

They're getting extremely painful to the point I can't speak or move during them.

Called hospital and they said I need to wait until they're closer and to rest. I can't rest as the pain has me in agony every 10mins or less!

I've had paracetamol and baths but pain is just ramping up more and more :-(

Any tips? I'm feeling exhausted and sounds like I'm not even in 'proper' labour yet.

OP you're a trooper! Fingers crossed it's not much longer now Flowers

My labour ward didn't believe I was in labour, didn't want me to go in but I went anyway. Got there, they tried to send me home without even checking me, my mum put her foot down and insisted they did, the moody midwife agreed to check me with a lot of eye rolling and huffing. Taaaa daaaaa, 10cm and ready to go. DS was born 40 mins later.
That particular midwife got a bollocking from the head midwife for that.

I agree with MrsA - rush hour could make that journey 10 times worse, I think just go now and try and miss work/school run traffic

Mrscog · 04/10/2016 07:33

Just echoing to get in the car and go - ring them on the way, being in the car was intolerable for me when I was in labour (30mins) don't risk getting stuck in traffic!

Nzou1050 · 04/10/2016 07:34

Is the pain you're having between contractions in your back? Just wondering because by first was back to back and I found the contractions much more painful and had pain in between, which I didn't have with my second.

lovelybangers · 04/10/2016 07:35

I would set off at 9 once traffic clears.

Good luck!

Go to hospital. My contractions never got below 15 mins apart then suddenly I went into active labour within a couple of mins, waters broken, gotbone continuous contraction and her head came out

The 3 in 10 min rule is rubbish - not everyone has a standard labour. If they are painful then they are doing something. At the very least go in to be checked and get some pain relief.

Got one

RaeSkywalker · 04/10/2016 07:43

Hope you're on your way in OP.

Flowers in advance ;)

Well done OP, good luck! I was also told to stay at home until contractions were 3-4 mins apart. They actually never got more than 6 mins apart, and because of that bad advice, DS was born on the living room floor with DH doing the catching!!

Argh!

FATEdestiny · 04/10/2016 09:23

Been holding on all night to see if they become closer

I hope you were able to lie down and get some rest, even if it wasn't much sleep. Good Luck Flowers

I remember the exhaustion of lack of sleep was just as much of an issue in my first (very very long) labour as the physical exhaustion from labouring.

Afreshstartplease · 04/10/2016 09:29

Hope you are settled in hospital now op with either your baby or some drugs

GlitteryFluff · 04/10/2016 09:32

Hope you've gone in. Good luck
