What does this mean? Did I have a really big fanny then?

Both my babies, more than 8 lb with larger thn averge heads(ds1 has to wear 6-8 yr old hats - he is 3), left me with no tear at all. I am only 5'2 so did not expect this. Am also not particularly earshaped.

I'm built like the Chnnel Tunnel, aren't I?

So being tight-arsed has many connotations?

jampots · 10/01/2007 00:31

yes indeed vvvvqvqvvvqqvvv

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/01/2007 00:32

Or are you just a fabulous multitasker?

jampots · 10/01/2007 00:33

tis the beauty of online shopping you see - something to do whislt he's at it. That said he possibly is saying im tight in a monetary sense as he's looking over my shoulder at the "checkout"

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/01/2007 00:34

ROFL!

serenity · 10/01/2007 00:38

I had no tears with any of mine (9.2, 8.13, and best of all DD coming out with her thumb in her mouth weighing 9.10), but I have had to have most of my internal walls gathered up, cut to refit and stitched tighter in the years following. I think I'd have prefer a tear at the time instead they didn't tear me........it stretched

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/01/2007 00:47

Serenity - i kept reading that as you had no "tears" as in - it didnt make your eyes water....it took me a while....

serenity · 10/01/2007 00:49

LOL, no tears either - just lots of swearing!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/01/2007 00:51

LOL "did it make your eyes water?"

"No, but it stung a bit"

I didnt swear at all actually. In fact, with DS (no epidural), I just made weird animal noises that were concerning the mw's at the nurses station across the corridor

Highlander · 10/01/2007 10:59

aah, it's one of those classic MN threads!

colditz · 10/01/2007 11:04

I'm going to be quoted by MP saying something bloody awful gain, aren't I?

I do say some very kind, well thought out and mature things, it's just that when I post something I am idly wondering, everyone listens. I seem to do the online equivelant of shouting "Crikey, that dress makes her look like a pool table's fat friend!" when the music has hit a really quiet point in a pub. And everyone turns to look at you.

Jeez you got a big fanjo

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 10/01/2007 17:10

ROFL at this thread.

Will refuse to be drawn into divulging my own dimensions...(for obvious reasons)

Flower3554 · 10/01/2007 17:56

Can I just say.......Priceless absolutely priceless.

I honestly cannot remember laughing out loud until I cried for so long. Its weird as well cos I'm home alone and I keep wanting to read bits out to my dh and he's not here.

Never are when you want them.

Mind you he did offer the doc money to tighten me up when our last dd was born and I was being stitched up.

bundle · 10/01/2007 17:58

in my obstetric notes from the birth of dd1 (just before I had my c/s) I noticed the classic phrase: hot vagina

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/01/2007 23:22

Are you sure it said "hot"?

Or was than an acronym....?

pirategirl · 10/01/2007 23:54

My experience was a 6lb baby, who was stuck, i pushed for 2 hours, and felt no need to push, was on my back, and suddenly she flew out like she became unlodged.
I tore very bad, stretched alot. I remember yrs ago being examined and a really great male dr said, 'oh you're a bit tight' how kind, i was only 16. I can only assume, that my perenium was pretty rigid??

Its haunted me so much, to have had so much damage.

rachelhill · 12/01/2007 16:08

Hi Colditz

You'd know if your bits were like the channel tunnel, there would be regular service strikes and it'd smell funny

lulumama · 12/01/2007 16:10

bundle..think a hot and dry vagina means obstructed labour...so don;t think he meant hot like hot

small snort nonetheless

rachelhill · 12/01/2007 16:20

Do obs get through several watches a year I wonder - you just wouldn't ask for it back if you lost one

This is v funny....

on a similar subject....my friend (an A&E nurse) was telling me asbout all the things she's helped remove from various orifices (mobiles are popular at the minutes - the phones not the cot toys) and they have a policy to return all patient property as they leave the hospital. Last week she handed a large carrot to a gentleman as he walked like John Wayne out the department. (They washed it first!)

sunchowder · 12/01/2007 16:43

This is funny to me, as I also wondered just how big I really am. My DD was 3 weeks early and she just popped out with a tiny graze on my labia also. During my next visit to the Gynae, she used a "duckbill" speculum--whatever the hell that is. I am still very curious about my size, but I guess I will never know.....

annieapple7 · 12/01/2007 17:28

Great thread ladies. LOL loads. I didn't tear with either of my 2, must be stretchy ?

But i do remember having sex for the first time after second birth, 2/3 weeks afterwards. Too soon. It felt like waving a flag in the Albert Hall. Dreadful. I was so upset. I think it has tightened up a bit since then.

Or perhaps DH has just got a big one.

Funny how it is good for men to have big ones, but not for women....

Anyway we must all be a snug enough fit down there to make our men do the deed to get us pregnant in the first place!!

grouchyoscar · 12/01/2007 17:41

DS 8lb 5 only gave me 'labial grazes'. I had been doing perineal massage from the 1st trimester
But
Had a coil fitted when DS was 3 mths old. The GP had a student 'observing' (ahem) did the necessary, removed the 'tools' and said to the student 'and that's the easiest you'll ever see this proceedure take place'
Me (prone) shut legs quick 'what you trying to say like?'
