If your 1st baby was late was your 2nd late too?

DS arrived at 42 wks, I'm wondering if no2 is likely to be late too.

skiwear · 08/01/2007 13:41

skiwear · 08/01/2007 13:42

hi the blonde

my first son went over 15 days, he was born after induction

with my 2nd i planned a home birth but i didnt think id get one as i was sure he wouldnt show up volunterily and i would need to be induced again,
but he was born on his due date

so no2 isnt likely to be late at all

Flumpybumpy · 08/01/2007 13:45

1st (girl) - 2 days early, 36hr labour and emergency section

2nd (boy) - 7 days late, 5hr labour and emergency section

Hi ds was 12 days late and dd was 4 days late by one due date and 18 by other due date. If it was the really overdue date that was the correct one then it would explain the meconium in water...

I had a curry and sex the night my waters went with dd. Try that!!

kittypants · 08/01/2007 13:52

my first was late by week ,second and 3rd 3 weeks early but 3rd tried coming from 30 weeks onwards.

geogteach · 08/01/2007 14:05

Yup all 3 8-12 days late

Radley · 08/01/2007 14:07

dd1 - 11 days late
dd2 - bang on time

Isa11 · 08/01/2007 14:29

1st bang on the due date.
2nd 11 days late!!!

Havign said that, on the speed of labour, things were as predicted. 1st was a 7 hour labout, and 2nd came in less than 3.5 hours flat.

tron · 08/01/2007 14:29

1st 7 days late
2nd 12 days late

Glassofwine · 08/01/2007 14:30

dd1 - 10 days late
dd2 - 2 days early, but induced so who knows
ds1 - 10 days early

serenity · 08/01/2007 14:32

DS1 - 8 days late
DS2 - 10 days late (induced)
DD - 11 days late, so mine have got 'worse' too (although i'd be interested to know how much more late DS2 would have been if I hadn't been induced)

Troutpout · 08/01/2007 14:45

ds...6 days late
dd...6 days late

TheBlonde · 08/01/2007 15:58

Thanks for all the answers - no clear patterns that I can discern

DD1 - 2 weeks late
DD2 - 1 week early
DD3 - bang on time according to midwife & dates, late according to consultant's measurements.
