Alfie, have a look on the NH website - think the downloads are 3 for 2 at the moment.

The one I'm doing is by a proper hypnotherapist, so it comes with 10 different hypnosis mp3s, inc tracks with beautiful birth music you can take with you to hospital, videos about hypnobirthing, a script your DH can use and other stuff to download. Amazing for 30 quid I think.

Bought it on tues, wd still recommend and could access everything straight away on my iPad x

Thanks stepfauxwife I had a look on the nh website and listened to a sample, very relaxing! Looking forward to listening to the whole cd now.

Just jumping on the thread - had a look at the nh website too and I think it looks great - I've managed to find a lot of free downloads of relaxing music and basic 30 min hypnobirthing CD's on amazon prime.... problem is I can't download them on to CD.

Just wondering if anyone felt worried going into labour in case the hypnobirthing didn't work or hold up to the contractions..... would hate to get 30 mins into it and think oh pants it's not working and then panic, especially as I'm really hoping to have a home birth this time, do you have a strategy if that happens? or did you make a plan B?

Also how involved were your partners in this, did they listen to the CD etc. beforehand to get to grips with it... so far my darling other half just chuckles at the music and makes silly faces Hmm (i'm sure he will get with the program) just think its his way of letting me know he feels a bit left out maybe?

Toadierocks, I think his is where your birth partner comes in. I definitely think it's worth your OH having a listen too. He can help support you and encourage you when you're finding it difficult.

My DH was very sceptical before we started. But he saw how effective it was during the birth of my DD and has bought into it for our second pregnancy. It might be worth getting the book as that explains the "science" behind NH.

Another thing I found helpful was making a poster / cards with helpful statements on them (if you don't feel too silly writing them down!), e.g. "Each contraction brings me closer to my baby". It's worth a Google.

We've been going through the hypnobirthing online course together toadie (hypnobirthing-online.com) And it has a session just for birthday partners too, that they can listen to a few times a week. My dh was v.sceptical too, but there's nothing hippyish about it. He uses his script with me too and it makes us feel like a team! We're going to start the more practical stuff at the wknd.

Why do you need to download the hypnosessions onto a CD? You're meant to listen to them over & over during pregnancy. We've got our affirmations tracks on my iPhone to play for the birth.

I don't know what you mean by 'not working' 30 mins into your birth -do you mean getting into a panic and losing it? I'm sure those fears dissipate the more you practice.

You should have a track where you visualise the whole of your baby's birth from start to finish? With you coping with all the different stages etc?

Would recommend the hypnobirthing online course to anyone. I don't know about NH, but our course takes you through everything step by step and the mp3s have guidelines too - which one to listen to, and when etc. Dh has really got on board as it's been so easy. He also poo pooed it as first mind!

Sorry for typos, stupid phone, I mean 'birth partner' of course, not birthday partner, though that works too Grin
