My son got ill after 1st pregnacy but they didn't know i had b-strep before he got ill. Is was ok after ABs and week in neo-natal.

I am positive again and have to have IV antibiotics. which i don't mind, better safe than sorry.
But i was wondering how many of you have been B-Strep Pos, had IV antibiotics and baby still got ill?
And were they OK after a while?

I had strep B, was given IVabx, and still had a water birth at home, and my baby was fine.

I was Strep B + and had the recommended doses of IV abs during labour. When DS was 1 day old he had a rash - the Dr said the rash was nothing to worry about but he thought his fontenelle was bulging slightly and was concerned this was a sign of infection. They have a low threshold for treatment so put him straight on to IV abs whilst they waited for the blood tests. Blood tests came back negative for any infection. So he was absolutely fine.
