Am I in labour???

I know it has been done 1000 times before, but if nothing else I just want something to do with myself while my body decides what it is going to do.

I felt fine all day, got to about about 5 o'clock-ish, and very suddenly started to feel sick, didn't want to eat dinner but DH made me eat some toast which perked me up a bit, have been having fairly mild but intense contractions (can you have mild and intense at the same time?!!) with a tiny bit of back pain, coming every 8-10 minutes or so. The contractions aren't painful, but just really tight, and the baby has dropped really low.

Anyone who has followed the last 5 weeks with me, this is completely different to every contraction I have had before!

I actually feel really silly posting this, in case it turns out to be nothing, but I am bored and can't concentrate on the telly, so thought it would at least take some time up.

speed is about the last word to use where this labour is concerned lol!

MarsLady · 30/11/2006 17:52

Is that it? Sigh..........

Sugarfree · 30/11/2006 18:00

Youre right,Nj and speed.

NatalieJane · 30/11/2006 18:13

I got all excited then, I thought someone was handing out speed, thought it might have worked

Nothing doing today, loads of discharge, but that seems to hapeen when I move more, the very odd tightening here and there, nothing to write home about. My belly is killing me though, don't even want to guess how many muscles I've damaged today!

(I feel I must add I have never done or had any inclination to do speed before BTW!!)

prawns? oyster sauce? you've upset my karma!!! What no homemade pizza with olives, roasted red pepper and mozzarella? I even have a lovely hand painted dish to serve it in.

NatalieJane · 30/11/2006 18:50

We always share a main dish so we can have seseme prawn toast and prawn crackers, else we'd never fit it all in, and in fact knowing me recently I won't fit even half of it in tonight, but even the smell of it will be worth the £15!!

NJ if you eat all that I feel a clear out coming on , tis a good sign

NatalieJane · 30/11/2006 18:55

LOL How nice, I shall think of that when I am eating my prawn toast - thanks!! LOL

No, I don't think he is for shifting yet, and in fact the longer it goes on for, the more I am coming round to the fact that I will end be being induced. If all that has gone on in the last 7 weeks hasn't got him moving, I don't see why or how it change in the next 2 weeks.

Just takes us straight back to what on earth are we going to do with DS while I am in hospital, the whole point of the homebirth was because we've no one to watch him for us, and now it looks like we are back to that again. Anyway, that is a moan for another day I think!

lulumama · 30/11/2006 19:02

lulumama · 30/11/2006 19:03

BUT YOU WILL HAVE A HOMEBIRTH!

I HAVE LOST THE BET NOW , NO?

calsworld · 30/11/2006 19:04

Hello all, still here, no change...still erratic contractions, more show though...yuck...and have had the longest bath in the world and even managed to shave legs!

Am craving spicy food (sorry DH if this repeats on us later in the birth pool) but we're having chili poppers for starters! Yum....oohhh they're done....see you laters...

I could really go for Eggplant Parmasean, but that is mainly because of my tomato obsession I've been having. Tomatoes are my only real craving.

lulumama · 30/11/2006 19:59

keep it up cals!!

aubergine parmesan MKG...another favourite !!!

MKG · 30/11/2006 20:02

Actually just give me the marinara sauce. When I was pg with ds I drank a whole jar in about 2 minutes. I knew I was pregnant a week ahead of finding out with this one because all of a sudden I had to put ketchup on everything. I love tomato products in generally.
