Still not on delivery though! Sorry to hear your awful stories and happy to hear your nice ones :) baby is engaged as far as I know and in the correct position.

Keep bouncing and walking, stairs are good as well. I was induced with DD, pessary at 8am then lots of walking til labour started properly at about 5pm. Started pushing at about 2am but unfortunately she just got stuck at the last bit so had to have a spinal and forceps at the end to get her out and she was born at 4.30am.
Good luck, won't be long now.

Holden10 · 27/05/2015 11:51

I also meant to say bp has been consistently fine since I've been here yesterday morning!

At what point is the 'point of no return' in inductions?

Ie in the op's scenario can she just leave the induction at this point or once it's started does it need to go to arm/drip if it doesn't get going more soon?

tinkerbellvspredator · 27/05/2015 12:17

I've had 2 labours (not induced), the first my waters were broken at 10cm dilated. I didn't know they didn't need to be I think the midwife just wanted to speed it up even though I had a very average length of first time labour.

The midwives for my second labour had assured me they didn't break waters as it was unnecessary (community midwives so obviously if any reason needed ARM you would be going to hospital).

My second labour was faster and my waters didn't break until my baby was crowning. I think this helped with the pain (1st labour pushing stage was much worse) and definitely didn't slow it down.

Good luck x

I'm finally on delivery suite. decided to embrace the induction process as my contractions are pretty useless!

Just came onto mums net to catch up and see how things are going op - glad to hear you are on delivery suite. If nothing is progressing induction might be a good thing after all. You can do it, not long now! Will be back later to find out what your gorgeous baby is called Smile

Keep going! Are you bouncing around?

RolyPolierThanThou · 27/05/2015 15:55

Well done op. Im the one with the long saga of the posterior baby who posted earlier.

If baby's in a good position then thats great. I had synto drip and tbh did not mind it. It really did help me to keep those contractions going. I very much missed it when the drip ran out and I had no contraction for 40 minutes during 2nd stage.

comparing the pain to the non augmented, unmedicated labour I had 19 months later with my second, the synto was no worse. I just gassed and aired my way to the clouds with each one, trying to get the peaks (of ctx and gas effect) to line up. It was like a game I played.

wigglylines · 27/05/2015 16:00

Just a quick post to wish you luck. I hope you meet your baby soon :)

Come on Holden! Pull you finger out!

I never venture onto these threads, but did at 4:30"this morning.

Had a day of ducking out of lectures (giving them, not receiving them) to check on updates. On train home now, and you STILL have not produced.

Simply not good enough GrinGrin

OhHolyFuck · 27/05/2015 19:27

icklekid · 28/05/2015 01:27

Hoping all is going well holden and that your snoring away with a beautiful baby!

Holden10 · 28/05/2015 02:36

I had my waters broken at 1.30pm and syncocinon started at 2pm. I was told to expect about 5am today. She didn't turn the drip up to full because I was contracting enough. I wanted an epidural so bad at one point but then needed to push! So my gorgeous ds came at 18.51! Ruairí Brogan :) he's amazing, just perfect
