hey its me, was a doula for a year or so, mainly post birth work, can I help at all?? (btw I was MKM and your dh has been in my house lol)

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/10/2006 23:46

yes I thought I'd spoken to someone - and I was just saying to my brother who's staying that I though it was someone my DH had licenced LOL.

So I take it your're not Doula-ing (is that a word LOL) any more?? And don't do birth??

Just vaguely considering my options, still got loads of time - I'm only 7+5weeks - but had been thinking of a Doula and didn't know if there was anyone 'local'.

I am not currentl working as a Doula although have not givn up on going back to it, i know a couple of birth doulas in Northampton, I think who can be found on DUK website, although have not been in recent contact so can't be sure. I will try and find a link to her personal webiste for you, hang on a tick x

Thanks that would be good - obviouisly haven't made up my mind yet - and don't even know as yet whether we would be able to afford one - just want to be 'armed' with the information so I feel prepared.

\link{http://www.mghealth.co.uk/here's the lady i was thinking of}
I haven't spoke to her for a while but she is quite experienced and worth touching base with and discussin your options. I would love to offer you my services but I would be doing you a diservice as I worked mainly in post birth, and my family circumtances (four small children) make it difficult to commit to birth work. Please feel free to contact me though if you want to chat about anything x

Quadrofiendia · 22/10/2006 23:58

Quadrofiendia · 22/10/2006 23:59

please excuse the millions of typos, am having a keyboard prob!!!

pupuce · 23/10/2006 00:00

HRH - if you want to you can always CAT me... I may know good trainees near you too
That would sort out the cost issue !

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 23/10/2006 00:00

Thanks - had actually looked at her website - and wondered if it was you LOL. I'll contactg you if I want anymore info though

pupuce I haven't paid for CATs - and TBH this month can't afford to either - may contact you at the end of November (once we've got some money again) for their details.......are trainees considerably cheaper then???

please feel free I'm always happy to chat
Pupuce's idea of a trainee is a good one, often trainees lack experience in respect of the amount of births they have attended. but many of them are very knowledgable and more than capable of forming the bond necessary to be a 'good birth partner'.

Quadrofiendia · 23/10/2006 00:06

I think trainees only charge expenses, and i believ if you find the right one for you then they are equally as valuable.

pupuce · 23/10/2006 00:09

Just get me via my website

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 23/10/2006 12:35

thanks you two - sorry I disappeared last night - suddenly felt completely zonked and crashed off to bed LOL. Just had a look at your website and bookmarked it Pupuce.
