I intended to have a home birth but changed my mind on the day. Don't panic - you are not obliged to do it just because you are booked in to have one!

Had a wonderful homebirth while ds slept.
Have a search, there have been loads of threads about homebirths.

homebirth was the best thing i've ever done. DS1 slept through it and woke up just in time to hear baby brother's first cry. It was very relaxed.. I never had the panic of getting to hospital and we were all in bed together eating toast 20 minutes later. The midwife put little plastic sheets down to deal with the mess and cleared it all up in no time at all. Good luck whatever you decide.

I've had two straight forward and two tricky home births. I loved being at home. There are lots of good threads on the subject about what to get organised for a home birth with some heart warming stories.

Dont worry today! Had fantastic homebirths, my last 2 were at home. So lovely to be able to move around and eat what i wanted. Was so calm and relaxed, ds3 watched ds4 come out he was 2 and a half. He was great just watched wide eyed and he definately had a really strong bond with him from the word go. Does tell everyone that ds4 came out of my bum tho!
Im expecting #6 and fully intend having this one at home too.
My mum and my sister as well as exp were there, they made tea and pottered round me with ds3. DS4 came out in 40 mins but my best friend made it and my mum! Such a special experience, i cant wait. Well maybe i can wait, it hurts wherever you are.
Am sending you lots of luck, any time you have a question im here

ooops pedilia not today! Pregnancy hormones

Homebirths are fab, especially if you have other kids so you don't have to get into all that "is it time to go to hospital yet" stuff. I only managed 1/3, DD should have been a homebirth as well but I ended up in hospital - quite a nice experience but nothing beats having your baby at home.

thanks for all the supportive words guys, I feel a happier today.

It was watching DH's jaw drop that made me chuckle, he looked horrified

Quite looking forward to it now, especially that the children can be invovled.
