I was about 4 weeks after c section once the bleeding stopped! but oddly it hurts so we don't do it very much as I am anxious - cant quite work out why it hurts when I had a section but there was a lot going on down there when they were checking baby was ok so maybe that's why!

About 4 months. I had a 3rd degree tear and also bled for 10 weeks.
For me it was more about going to bed earlier than dh and i couldn't face doing it next to the baby. Once i wasnt so exhausted and dd was sleeping a bit better we could nip into the spare room.
Have only done it twice though (dd is now 6 months) as we had a major sleep regression.
Dd is now in her own room so once the world cup is over and dh comes to bed at the same time as me we will get on it a lot more.

What does dtd mean?

6 weeks, but in retrospect I should have waited a bit longer. Episiotomy and forceps delivery. My stitches took a long time to dissolve too. I think 10 weeks might have been more sensible from a comfort perspective! Now with a 4 month old baby the challenge is finding time to do it!

Noway Coconutty!!!!

dtd - do the deed - have sex.

5 weeks, I had an episiotomy and stitches. Didn't hurt.
The scariest thing is the first post birth poo!

I think it was about 4 weeks. I was really nervous, but it was fine.

10 weeks. I was also really nervous and I had a CS. I think its normal for it to be weird at first after birth, especially if you stop having sex during pregnancy. We stopped dtd at 32 weeks (DS born at 37 weeks) as it was just too uncomfortable for me, mainly because DH was so nervous about hurting me that he couldn't really get into it and it made it quite awkward. So it had been nearly 4 months since we had done it and our lives had completely changed in that time. Id go so far as to say we were different people.

4 months but I found it weird (not painful as I feared). At 5 months it was comfortable again.

Reading with interest! I'm in a similar position to you ilovefood but I'm at 8 weeks and still not DTD. I did have third degree tear which has been infected since week 2 and has literally only this week cleared so that hasn't helped! I too am very nervous about it x

Couple of weeks both times as just waited to stop bleeding. Neither time hurt and was all good.

First tried about 3 weeks but was too painful had minor grazes and some stitches think we managed at about 5 weeks.
Second I felt absolutely fine afterwards, no stitches and we dtd after ten days.

3 weeks, it hurt too much so we stopped. I hadn't had any tears or stitches or anything so I don't really know why, it was just painful inside. We kind of fooled around doing other stuff instead for the next couple of months I think. It was ok with lube after a couple of months.

First baby - 2 weeks
Second baby - 8 weeks
Third baby - seven months!

I fancied it after 4 days but DH pointed out I had stitches still (small tear). Good job he said this as after years on the Pill if not even thought about contraception and want a 3 year gap between DC if possible.

10 weeks now and not dtd but had coil fitted last week so can dtd when ever now Grin

However after watching the TV program 'The secret life of babies' where a baby who signed fluently due to deaf patents was able to recall things that happened when he was only a number of months old has made me think I will put DS in another room to dtd!

DC1 - 2nd degree tear - 4 weeks
DC2 - 1st degree tear - 5 weeks
DC3 - 1st degree tear - contemplating it in next few days (he's 3 weeks old)

I've waited until bleeding finished or almost done, all pain/swelling/discomfort gone, used lots of lube, and taken it very slowly.

Took a few attempts to not feel nervous about it and a fair few months to get into our normal pattern.

I managed it ilovefood! Lots of wine, kisses and cuddles and a trip to the spare room ;) it wasn't fireworks but it was nice and not painful at all :) x
