Anyone ever hated or regretted their waterbirth?

I plan on having a waterbirth next time round and everyone always seems to only have good things to say.

Obviously I wont really know what its like until I am in the thick of it (no.matter how many blogs I pin on Pinterest!)

Anyone actually dislike theirs or regret doing it?

I found it great to start with, but once the labour really started going mad, i wanted to get out, baby was back to back, and the pain in my legs was incredible. Because I'm so short, I couldn't really sit down without. Feeling like I was floating away!! Next time I would ask them to empty some water out.

I thought I would love it and had a pool at home with DC1, but I just didn't get on with it. I enjoyed having a bath earlier in the day but once labour really was established, I just wanted to get out and be on all fours.

I'd try it again, but in my next two labours, it wasn't an option and I didn't really mind.

I laboured for an hour in the birth pool. I really tried to like it! Grin I found it bloody annoying and I just wanted to go and lie on a bed and be dry and comfy - so I did and I felt much better!

It was too cold for me but I like my baths just short of boiling Smile
