Hi, just wondering. With my first I stopped taking my pill on the 6th May 2003 and had my last period on 18th July 2003. We will be trying for baby no.2 next year and just wondering if it should take around the same amount of time.

it only took me about 10 weeks both times

fullmoonfiend · 28/08/2006 15:50

took less than 6 weeks with my first. I was in shock, I expected it to take around 6 months.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 28/08/2006 15:54

stopped pill on xmas day 2004, was pg by 17th January!

intergalacticwalrus · 28/08/2006 15:57

Both times I got pg, I was on the pill. I never forgot one and never took one late either

Do you think I can sue Schering, or whatever they are called

Needless to say that when this baby is born, DP is going to the vets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JessaJam · 28/08/2006 16:00

About six months of trying I think

expatinscotland · 28/08/2006 16:00

6 months.

hulababy · 28/08/2006 16:02

Took me 15 months to concieve after coming off the pill (sadly this ednded in an early mc).

When trying for a 2nd child we kept going for 18 months unsuccessfully. For lots of other reasons we stopped trying at this point.

thanks - so really who knows - just wanted to try and time another one for just before DD is 4.

Two months

MamaG · 28/08/2006 16:46

1 week

goldendelicious · 28/08/2006 17:18

Like intergalacticwalrus, got pg while ON the pill.

AARRGH!

Not good when we lived in a one-bedroomed shoebox of a flat!!

Sister also became pg within a few weeks (both times!). I've heard that there's only a window of a few hours an egg can be fertilised tho - is that right? Might need to know that to 'hit the jackpot'

About a year first time round, then nearer 2 years 2nd time, used Persona in the end.

jellybellie · 29/08/2006 13:10

6 months but no science involved - ie just did it when we felt like it rather than checking dates etc

100Vicki · 29/08/2006 13:10

With my ds1 it took about 3 months but with new lo it only took less than 4 weeks!!

Kidstrack · 29/08/2006 13:14

chocolateshoes · 29/08/2006 13:19

IdrisTheDragon · 29/08/2006 13:23

Stopped taking pill end of December 2002, used condoms for about a month and was pregnant by middle of March 2003.

pinkmagic1 · 29/08/2006 13:28

DS = 3 months
Baby 2 that is due the start of November = 6 months.

Less time to make babies 2nd time round with a demnding toddler!

chocybickie · 29/08/2006 13:29

first time i fell pregnant whilst taking the pill.
second time i fell pregnant two weeks after stopping.

Stefallie · 29/08/2006 13:35

thanks everyone - very helpful - might have to stop in january then hopefully be preg by june at least. wanted 1st and 2nd closer together but have compromised. Have said that if we have a 3rd - they will be a lot closer hopefully. Going travelling at end of january for a year so fingers crossed it wont be a nightmare travelling with almost 3 year old and being pregnant! sorry for waffling
