Waterbirthers, did you wee in the pool?

Planning on having a waterbirth at home but the thought of clambering out of the pool and walking to the toilet for a wee and possibly having one or two contractions on dry land doesn't really appeal so I was thinking about just weeing in the pool because:

It will be diluted urine anyway from all the drinking I'll be doing.

It's going to get even more diluted from the volume of water in the pool, which is going to have water added and taken away throughout the course of the labor to maintain the temp.

I will probably be pooing in it, waters breaking in it and bleeding into it.

Urine is sterile.

So do you think this is gross? Have you done it? Did the midwives mind?

Jellyandcake good luck on your speedy Labour! A hot tub in a conservatory is a really nice dream (and probably all that it will be) but no harm in dreaming!

I got asked to get out if I needed a wee so they could test it? Not sure what for? I did wee a couple of times without telling the MW though.
