Well back in December 2010 some of you lovely lot really helped me along whilst in labour with DD2...

Today it's dc3 (gender unknown) due date...

So, although Im not having a planned home birth this time, I will still be labouring along with you lot, if you'll have me :)

Milk is in HELLO CHAPS!

She seems quite chilled really. Which is nice!

During the night I was crying in agony my pubic bone feels like its torn in two the pain was horrific - is that normal?!? Worse than SPD I had in pregnancy!!

Not going any where or moving any where at all today. I'm still in bed. DP is looking after the older two down stairs huzzah.

Nipple shield is helping with the latch - ha the same with dd2. Think it's because her mouth is so small my nipple doesn't get to the back properly. I'd managed to get rid of the shields when she was about 5 weeks and right now I will do any thing to make thes frst few days easier

Is the midwife still visiting? Might be worth getting her to check the swelling etc. Tbh, I just felt very very sore and swollen, but was put on very strong painkillers.

Hope you have a restful and snuggly day. X

OnlyWantsOne · 26/08/2012 11:55

I only have paracetamol and nurofen

MW not coming til Tuesday And when she came Friday she didn't even mention the tear

sittinginthesun · 26/08/2012 12:03

You need something stronger - can you send your DP out to the chemist? How about phoning your Midwife?

OnlyWantsOne · 26/08/2012 12:08

I asked the midwife on Friday when she came out and she said all I could have was paracetamol and nurofen

This is pretty miserable

sittinginthesun · 26/08/2012 12:28

That's rubbish, I was given something much stronger. Phone the hospital? I'm sure I had the option of phoning the maternity unit and could pick up a prescription from there. You shouldn't have to put up with the pain without support.

ReelAroundTheOrbit · 26/08/2012 15:54

Yes that's what the midwife told me too which is why I phoned my GP. I said I was on the verge of giving up bf-ing it hurt so much. Luckily she was able to offer sensible advice. I appreciate this isn't v useful on a bank holiday weekend though.

GlaikitFizzog · 26/08/2012 16:11

I had diclafenic, dyhrdrocodiene and morphine (only in hospital) when I had ds and I was bfing. It's awful you have not been given anything. I'd like to see a man have a new arsehole ripped and be sent home with nothing but paracetamol!

I would call ooh, get an emergency prescription. It's a bank holiday tomorrow so you won't get your GP until Tuesday.

TaggieCampbellBlack · 26/08/2012 18:55

You can buy cocodamol (8/500) over the counter.

And if you need a visit from the comm mw before tuesday ring and tell them.

There will also be a bleep holder available 24 hours a day on the other end of the phone for advice.

blondieminx · 27/08/2012 08:44

Midwives can't prescribe - if you want the stronger drugs you need to get yourself in front of a doctor. They have seen everything so don't feel cringey about mentioning the tear.

I would suggest going back to the hospital as you're only a couple of days post-partum, but as it's a long journey for you perhaps the out of hours GP service would be better?

Flosie1989 · 27/08/2012 08:45

How's the little one owo?

OnlyWantsOne · 27/08/2012 10:14

All ok. Feeding still painful but I'm taking it one feed at a time

They sleep lots dont they?'

OP posts:
OnlyWantsOne · 27/08/2012 10:15

I have zero feeling in my bum re going to The loo. Am trying not to panic.

OP posts:
GlaikitFizzog · 27/08/2012 10:21

Lactolose, that's what you need! Don't panic, use a flannel on your bits when you do go, just to support them. Drink plenty of water too.

How are you pain wise? Any better? Enjoy the sleeping, ds was up at 5.30

OnlyWantsOne · 27/08/2012 10:24

The new one may be sleeping. The other two aren't!!

I can't beleive how shocking I feel. I feel like I've been in a car crash !

OP posts:
GlaikitFizzog · 27/08/2012 10:42

Oops sorry forgot about the other two. I had a cs, so can't vouch for your ragged bits, but I was home a week before I felt anything like my normal self. You must take it easy. Do you have arnica? I really think that helped me heal up.

Has dh got his list for the chemist?

nickelcognito · 27/08/2012 13:55

you need to get your latch checked.

can you ask your MW, or get someone from BF counselling to check?
and get the MW to check your underbeneathsies! Shock a 2nd degree tear and they've not checked it?
ow!

and definitely keep taking the paracetamol - I was taking 2 every 2-3 hours for about a week afterwards.

bitbewildered · 27/08/2012 21:07

owo do not allow yourself to get constipated. I'm sure you know that already though. I did and it was miserable

OnlyWantsOne · 27/08/2012 21:26

Am drinking gallons of water :)

Nickel - not only has the MW not checked, she's not been here since Friday afternoon

OP posts:
nickelcognito · 28/08/2012 11:58

and Angry
that's 4 days!

OnlyWantsOne · 28/08/2012 15:03

Think she's coming today at some point.

OP posts:
Flosie1989 · 28/08/2012 15:09

Hope all goes on if she does come Smile

IrrationalFear · 29/08/2012 07:36

Oo congratulations! Definitely take diclofenac (instead of nurofen but continue paracetamol). Have you got a doughnut cushion to sit on? It takes all the pressure off your bum.

Oh and suggests Chloe, Lydia, Megan and Maisie Grin
