Well back in December 2010 some of you lovely lot really helped me along whilst in labour with DD2...

Today it's dc3 (gender unknown) due date...

So, although Im not having a planned home birth this time, I will still be labouring along with you lot, if you'll have me :)

Congratulations Thanks and ask for a nice suppository to get rid of the pain.

So jealous of your newborn snuggles Grin (and your labour because I loved mine [mad emoticon]).

OnlyWantsOne · 25/08/2012 16:18

fuckbadger · 25/08/2012 16:47

Oh poor you! Are you still in hospital? Make sure the mws check your latch and slather on the lasinoh!

I love bitbewildered's name suggestion, Iris is a lovely name and would go perfectly with your other two.

nickelcognito · 25/08/2012 16:48

yes, feeding does hurt!
and so will your bottom! Shock
you need to force yourself to move around a bit so you don't hurt too much.

have you got the big pads on? and big knickers?
I don't miss those! (and you've done it three times now!)

OnlyWantsOne · 25/08/2012 17:21

OnlyWantsOne · 25/08/2012 19:55

I'm feeling very teary

OP posts:
Flosie1989 · 25/08/2012 20:01

Ahh I'd book a telephone appt with your gp do you don't need to go in and explain the level of pain your in and ask if they can prescribe some strong pain killers. Then DP can go and collect for you Smile

Remember it's normal to feel teary at this stage, just cry if you need to and take your time with everything no rushing around.

How was the birth? I forgot to ask

TaggieCampbellBlack · 25/08/2012 20:08

Wow! Hurrah!

I drpped by to ask 'have you had that baby yet?' Grin

Congratulations!

Call her Ruth. Or Maisie. Or Isabel. Or Betsy. Or Poppy.

Flosie1989 · 25/08/2012 20:31

Big hugs owo

OnlyWantsOne · 25/08/2012 20:41

Well the MW said I had a small tear that didn't need stitches

I've just read in the notes it's a 2nddegree tear and I've looked. OUCH

OP posts:
Flosie1989 · 25/08/2012 20:59

You looked? Brave you! I didnt dare look at my 3rd degree tear!

Don't panic just remember it all will heal in time and you'll heal quicker the more active you are. I did lots of gentle walking to help my healing.

Take lots of warm baths and sit on extra cushions. Put a pillow under the small of your back at bedtime so you aren't putting weight on your bottom x

sittinginthesun · 25/08/2012 22:00

I found sitting on an icepack really helped, and also weeing in the shower for the first few days Blush.

sittinginthesun · 25/08/2012 22:02

(Meant to say - I couldn't actually sit down for a week after DS1. I thought I'd never recover, I was so swollen and torn, but it was all better by the six week check).

OnlyWantsOne · 25/08/2012 22:10

I've cracked out a nipple shield

ReelAroundTheOrbit · 25/08/2012 22:11

I called my GP as I was in 100 kinds of agony after dc3 to ask advice re: strong painkillers. She said so long as I was very careful to not exceed the maximum dosage I could take almost anything that I could get in a chemist. DH had to say it was for him though as the pharmacist wouldn't let me have them.

The afterpains really were as bad as contractions with the added hell joy of breastfeeding. They were gone within about 5 days. I cried almost non-stop for a week!

And congratulations!!

HotHotNot · 25/08/2012 23:26

Congratulations! I remember you from December 10 antenatal. What a fab birth and a beautiful tiny girl to snuggle. I am v v envious. Enjoy every minute ( as well as you can with sore bits and no sleep). I hope you have lots of people treating you like an Olympic medal winner right now.

My fave baby name of the moment is Dinah.....

blondieminx · 25/08/2012 23:31

Get diclofenac (sp?), that's bloody marvellous stuff..

Take arnica tablets too, they really help ease things with bruising/swelling.

Flosie1989 · 26/08/2012 06:19

Hope you're starting to feel better day by day owo
