Are you booked in there for the birth or hoping to get a private room after birth on the NHS? If the latter then not a hope in hell...

They were wonderful and looked after my dd when I was in intensive care and my dh was gibbering at my bedside

I'm booked in there. Thanks for your response!

oh if you are booked in fine

I was NHS but my insurance co offered to pay for a room in the private ward but it was full for 3 weeks.

Hi. I had a midwife led delivery there 2 years ago, in the PMU, which has 6 beds. Fairly new and clean, good one on one attention, although still have the problem of midwives changing shifts every 12 hours, so I went through 3 different ones. I had a post partum haemmorrhage so had to be rushed to the NHS bit to be mended, and then went to High dependency unit for several hours. I stayed in for 3 nights after the birth, and the care and attention after the birth was excellent, not to be faulted. I was particularly keen to breastfeed and not be thrown out after the standard 6 hours whether or not I had mastered it, and to be able to have my husband stay the night, which he did for all 4 nights. I am booked in there again, this time under a consultant for my next baby in 10 weeks. Please feel free to ask any questions!

louloubelle - thanks very much! I have consultant-led care as well. We may see each other there...I am also due in 10 weeks!
