i had an elective c/s with my ds2 nearly 4 years ago now, because he was breech, and i second what everyone else has said.

you really shouldn't be reading thsi now, anyway, you should be fast asleep and getting as much rest as you can, as tomorrow will be an exciting although physically and emotionally draining day.

i have to praise my c/s as it was fantastic and am quite looking forward to my c/s for no3 in march!!! i will be following all the advice on here, particularly the arnica, pain relief and plenty of fluids (and senna if offered) for the constipation. oh and don't worry about the wind afterwards, because your stomach has been opened up, it is normal to get wind after, just hold onto your stitches (for psychological reassurance rather than the fact that they will hurt or open) and let go! very ladylike, but if you are in your own room, theres no need to worry.

oh and most of all good luck, can't wait to read the birth announcement on MN!

good luck for tomorrow

Hi, it's BBE's husband. The C Section went really well and we are now the proud parents of a beautiful baby boy, called Lewis.

aw, well done BBE. I had a section too - they're tops! Lewis is a lovely name. Keep moving and you'll recover very quickly; drink loads of fruit juice to get the bowels moving.
