ive seen adverts for this on fb. they claim to be able to cure anxiety in young people. im suspicious - and nowhere does it tell you the cost. however im fairly desperate since my 16 year old is very disabled by anxiety. thanks

@TeenMinusTests

I have asked my daughter to come off medication as think it’s wrong for a 14 year old to be on this. Exactly why we are finishing this route.
And starting our journey now.

TeenMinusTests · 30/05/2021 18:30

This week is ramp up from zero to maths GCSE, and fitting for prom dress.

Mibb · 30/05/2021 18:33

Teen, double, I'm going to log out now, I usually stay logged out so I don't get drawn into things Confused. I hope things continue to improve for you and your dc step by step Smile

TeenMinusTests · 30/05/2021 18:34

Personally I wouldn't refuse medication for an illness, so I don't see why I should refuse it for my DD's depression, especially as it is proving so beneficial. But each to their own.
(It is however important to come off meds in a controlled way, under direction of a doctor, and not just jump off at the advice of a non medically trained therapist.)

DoubleTweenQueen · 30/05/2021 18:34

Covid has been an additional pressure none of our beautiful young people needed. So much chaos and disconnection. Here's to exam results and the summer! Wine
@TeenMinusTests Remind her that exam results do not define you. I hope she gets what she needs for the next stage though! x

TeenMinusTests · 30/05/2021 18:36

Double College have said they will be flexible, and see where she is in Sept. The fact that she has sat any assessments at all is a win compared with where she was in March. (She only 'needs' 4 at grade 3 anyway. But only entered for 4.)

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 18:37

I’m not engaging anymore either now!
You do you, but we’re going up from here as well.

Hope whatever you do you’re happy

DoubleTweenQueen · 30/05/2021 18:37

And medication for a defined period and monitored for efficacy, can be a vital bridge to recovery.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 18:39

@DoubleTweenQueen

Some are very beneficial but I don’t agree with there being very little scientific evidence about antidepressants.

TeenMinusTests · 30/05/2021 18:40

That's how I feel Double DD now has the energy to engage with outside life, and once GCSEs are done will have headspace to try CBT and then life story work.

DoubleTweenQueen · 30/05/2021 18:44

@TeenMinusTests. Exams/assessments = incredible stress, so just wonderful that your dd has been able to engage at all! I hope she is proud of herself - she deserves to be, particularly while battling her illness. Amazing Star

DoubleTweenQueen · 30/05/2021 18:48

@JungleMum40 Drug trials aren't usually done in young people, due to strict ethical concerns, that's why there isn't the data. That doesn't negate the utility of a well-defined molecule being prescribed for young teens.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 18:52

@DoubleTweenQueen
Again works for some people and some people not, I honestly wish everyone the best of luck with their journeys

DoubleTweenQueen · 30/05/2021 18:59

@JungleMum40 Apart from myself I presume, being irrelevant.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 19:01

@DoubleTweenQueen

No one is irrelevant, just certain comments are irrelevant, I hope what ever you decide to do or which route you go down has a happy ending for you and you find some peace with yourself.

DoubleTweenQueen · 30/05/2021 19:11

@JungleMum40 You have been pointedly rude and hurtful towards me. You have also stated you were leaving the thread - about 4 times. I do not acknowledge any fake good wishes.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 19:15

@DoubleTweenQueen

I have done nothing wrong but state my opinion, I think there is definitely something else going on, I am trying to be nice and that is up to you, goodluck and goodbye

dappledsunshine · 30/05/2021 19:36

@DoubleTweenQueen

Ignore, I strongly suspect the pp is posing as a parent and probably heavily involved in the organisation.

@DoubleTweenQueen

I am a mum myself of a young girl with anxiety ? How dare you ? I’m also an owner of a gym! Don’t start being hateful to someone who has a voice as well ? That’s not right ?

InspectorHastings · 30/05/2021 20:27

I almost daren't comment as this thread has become truly surreal... I couldn't help but notice the quantity of zoom sessions this entails. I'm sure I'd fit into the category of 'not sufficiently interested in helping their child get better'. But multiple meetings per day? I really enjoy days where we can get on with life not be educated non stop? I'd struggle to think for myself after that volume.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 20:31

@InspectorHastings

I have nothing left in me to say anything more than I have already said?

You want results, you have to work for them, I’m very very hurt by this thread and now I am bowing out with my head held high.

Psuedoshoes · 30/05/2021 20:57

So glad I found this thread. I had a call with them a few weeks ago - they tried the pressure sell on me on the call, stating there might not be space if I didn't sign up there and then. As if I didn't need any time to think before handing over £5.5k! Then all of a sudden they've the availability to do free weeks for people to try and prove themselves. I have been feeling the guilt since and been pondering whether or not I should bite the bullet and give it a go. But all the things said on this thread resonate, it's literally thousands of pounds for some secret formula that for some reason can't be properly divulged. The way they're responding to people on Trust Pilot is disgraceful too. I am glad it's working for some, but I'll be exploring other avenues. Thank you all.

InspectorHastings · 30/05/2021 21:12

Wasn't specifically aimed at you Jungle. The 'you have to work at it' is what I'm worried about. If that involves so many calls per day that I struggle to think straight, then I want no part.
