Have had recurrent episodes of small almost flea like black things all inside the arks.

Smoked them out with powerful fumigator. All dead.

Then 2 weeks later they are all back again

Starting to get really fed up with it - what am I doing wrong?

You need to wash down or spray with Poultry Shield leave everything to dry off in the sun and then dust with Diatom powder, work it into all the crevices, out it in the run, in the nest box and even dust the chickens with it!

I had a massive infestation last year in my cube, and it took three weeks to get rid of it, so looking carefully everyday.

First sign is a reduction in eggs, then not wanting to go in the nesting box.

But you probably know all that!

Good luck, fingers crossed

I am suffering (well obviously my girls not me personally) with a massive infestation of little grey mites, I think they are "great fowl mites", out in the day not at night. The mite powder is not touching the, the chickens don't seem too bothered but they drive me mad every day when I go the house and they drop on me. Do you have any tips for them, I have used the blow torch on the cracks and crevices, disinfected the hutch etc, and treate the girls and house etc with powder and I am not winning!!

Sparkle - there are a number of different mites affecting chickens - are they mostly on the chickens or in the housing?

Northern Fowl Mite is the most difficult to eradicate but you will see those mostly on the birds themselves.
