So I poosted on here how 2 of my flock got foxed a few months ago (I have a new name) so when I was in Devon I bought some new pullets a Blue Maran (to replace my beautiful Bluebelle) and 2 younger ones a Welsummer (as only hatched cocks from my welsummer eggs)and a Buff Orpington.
As they are growing(now around 6-7 weeks)it has become increasingly obvious that Buffy is not a buff orpinton. She has Blue legs and a pompom on her head, although is the trad buff (pale orange/ginger) colour.
Me thinks a legbar got in the Orpington run...
Also my Maran is laying dark pink eggs with a fine white speckle all over - I thought Marans were dark layers? My cuckoo maran (who got foxed) was a pale egg girl too. I want dark eggs boohoo.
