So dh and I have just had our first discussion about getting some chickens. We know where e would out them, but what would we do with all the poo? Can it go on the veg patch?

chicken poo is excellent guano but, like guano and other manures it can't be used 'neat' when it is fresh as it will burn the plants. depending on the quantity, i am supposing you only have a few chickens, I'd dilute it by mixing it in with compost or add it to my compost bin. organisms in the poo ought to enrich the flora of a garden compost.

Thanks thatbuzzingnoise, we'd probably be getting 3/4 and we ahve a compost bin so sounds like that would work out well.
