Oh well done you - it's very flash

I am fairly new to hens (January) but should warn you if you dont already know that all the advice about it being addictive is true!!!

What are you getting ?

Millie1 · 28/04/2010 16:41

Wow ... it looks fab. Come back and tell us about your hens please!!

OnlyWantsOne · 28/04/2010 17:08

awww, have a problem

was only going to get 2, then the chicken man said I should get three, as a trio works best.... then he was mean to this little brown hen, so I bought her too

Maud, Edith, Muriel and Marjory are settling in just fine - but I will now need to find some where to put my chicken coop that I can make a secure run for them as this house is not big enough for four hens.

Not at POL yet, he thinks in a couple of weeks, they like the cress that DD and I grew for their arrival

I have 3 and am soon to get 2 more - they say odd numbers are better.

Mine are Aud, Maud and Mabel

What sort are they?

OnlyWantsOne · 28/04/2010 17:51

ones brown

ones a sussex star (but shes just cream all over) and the other two are well, one is sort of specley, the other is kinda black and white

I want hens!!

Millie1 · 28/04/2010 18:33

Oh, well done for buying the other one. Have heard about odd numbers, but why? I'd planned on 3 but am now thinking 4 as I want a Bluebell too!

florencerusty · 28/04/2010 19:16

Odd numbers is to do with the pecking order I think. So if there is a top dog (hen obviously) the others are likely to pair up

OnlyWantsOne · 28/04/2010 19:58

Ive put photos on my profile

Aaah. Thanks for that explanation Florence.

They're gorgeous Only ... look so cosy in their new home! Enjoy!

florencerusty · 28/04/2010 22:02
