I'm so excited. We're getting some ex-battery rescue hens. Even if I don't know what to do, I figure it has to be better than battery farming for them, right? And I do know a bit what to do, because I've been reading some of your guys' posts on here. Thanks so much for all the info. Woohoo!

are chucks hard to keep then? id love a few chucks for some fresh eggs but really not sure what they need?

they aren't that hard to keep really so long as you house and feed them well they are happy
typical day here would be let them out int he morning, make sure they have plenty of layers pellets (or whatever you choose to feed them on) and fresh water.
check for eggs during the day.
worm powder in feed periodically, apple cider vinegar in water and thats it really!
clean out thoroughly around once a week and I usually skip mine out daily (get rid of poo)
ours are purely pets and egg layers, they are totally mollycoddled and have daily hugs from my children
