We have a brick shed near a corner of our garden; I'm hoping to fence off that corner to use as a run and convert the shed to a coop.
My question is, what do I need to do to change it from an empty shed to a suitable hen house?
Is it just a case of installing a perch at one end, and nest-box in the corner? Can the perch just be a suitable-sized piece of wood balanced on a couple of bricks? Can the next-box just be a wooden crate with straw in, or do I have to make a bit more of an effort than that (nb I am v happy to make more of an effort, but I don't want to spend too much money if possible).
