Wing-clipping - do you have to do it every year?

We've got through our first year as chicken keepers and are really enjoying it. Yesterday, though, one of our Rhodeys jumped onto a five foot hedge. Luckily she's very tame so she jumped back into our garden when I called her back (thankfully DD aged 4 had spotted the attempted escape), but I'm more anxious now as nextdoor have a new springer puppy and it could have ended badly. Do we have to clip their wings every year? She's always been a good jumper, but this is a new record...

Generally, chickens will need clipping every year as clipped feathers will regrow after their yearly moult. Some of ours are pretty good jumpers tho, with or without clipped wings!

we do ours probably twice a year - but beware, once clipped they can't fly (duh) so cannot escape predators.
