HELP! clutch of eggs laid in November?!!

My duck has laid a clutch of eggs and is
covering, but not sitting full-time on, it!

28 day gestation means they would hatch late December.

Has anyone every heard of this? I've googled and found a village website whose Aylesbury ducks lay in November but can't find anything else.

Are the eggs viable? (We do have a drake)
Should I wait 4 weeks and see what happens?

She usually lays in the run and we pick them up from there. Never thought to check the nest until DH went to clean them out this morning and found a hidden clutch.

I would go for the wait and see approach, they could be viable, could you candle them?

what does 'candle them' mean?

since a powerful torch through them and see what you can see inside.

kind of like a dark dot, depending how long they have been under duck, will be totsally clear if not viable.
