A layer went broody, a retired farmer gave dd1 a dozen eggs to put under her, she ended up with 10 chicks (the 11th died after a night in ICU in a Happy meal box on back of aga, buried in lasagne box filled with petals, to strains of Mozart's requiem).
5 weeks later we took a box of 6 to market and she sold them.
Dd1 now has 2 pullets(to lay) and 2 cockerels (to eat), as well as her other layers.
Now, we need tips on fattening the cockerels!!
