Think one of my brahmas has dislocated her hip.

From googling it seems that I should just leave it and she will have a limp but otherwise be fine.

I would be happier if I could have someone's experience though.

Has anyone ever had a chook with a dislocated hip?

yes our bantam had a dislocated hip and a broken leg, our vet (neighbour) has given him an injection and put the hip back in and bandaged it up. the chicken in now in a nest box with water and food. but it cant get out, so it has to rest its leg. i suppose its up to you whether you treat it or not. our vet doesnt charge for this sort of thing as he is an equine vet so makes his living from that.

have asked my husband, he said the chicken did not have an injection but the vet put the dislocation back in and splinted the leg because it is also broken further down. it hasnt moved since then. he will take it back to the vets this evening.. if you have someone who can look at it then its prob a good idea
