Does anyone know if the Omlet glug and grub designed for the eglu/cube would fit onto any chicken house run mesh?

I don't know why... DH wants to know.....

Thanks for your reply. I think maybe ours is the posh weldmesh, but won't know until our new chicken house arrives !

Oh thank you that would be fab - I think DH wants to try some of out as he wants to keep the food/water off the floor. Our chicken house is apparently being delivered and assembled next Thursday, so we will have to wait until then to see what the mesh is like.

glad you asked this, as i am wondering the same at the risk of hijacking the thread, is there less waste/mess with the grub? my lot throw food everywhere at the minute & it driving me crazy!

Well, our excellent new chicken house with run was delivered and assembled this morning by a lovely man. When I get a sec I will pop out and measure the mesh, it looks quite small but DH is apparently willing to snip it if necessary.

We should be getting some chickens tomorrow to put in it (finally after months and months of searching for coops)

DH is planning on just putting the house and run on the playbark that he has down in his veggie patch area already - will this be OK do you think? I'm thinking that putting some slabs under it might be easier to keep clean etc - our chickens will be free ranging most of the time.

The holes in the mesh are 2.5cm. So would the grub and glug fit? Our 3 new hens have already knocked over the standard water thingy 3 times this afternoon and DS2 deliberately upturned the feeder

I have an eglu cube but no run. I got my Glug to fit by balancing a garden cane underneath the cube from one side to the other. The cane rests in the little bits of mesh under the cube which aren't wide enough to fit the Glug on. Then I clipped the Glug onto the garden cane. It works OK.
